Itinerary
Morning-This is a wonderful and refreshing experience undertaken while in Nairobi. You will be picked at meeting point and drive to Nairobi National Park. After clearance at gate you start game drive in this park. It’s probably the most unique National Park in the world. Where else can you spot lions, rhino, buffalo and giraffe just minutes from a national capital city? Here you will spot 4 of Africa’s “Big Five”, plus cheetah, leopard, gazelle, hyena, impala, zebra and ostrich… all in the wild. Birdlife in the park is plentiful – especially in the wetlands with over 400 species amidst pods of hippos. The park also features the highest density of black rhino in Kenya as it functions as a rhino sanctuary.
Mid-Morning– Leave Nairobi National Park and drive to the David Sheldrick Elephant Orphanage. This is a world–class conservation organization taking care of infant elephant and rhino orphans. The place is open for an hour every day between 11am and noon. During this hour the baby elephants are brought out to play and to feed, and visitors can watch them from behind a rope. Animal keepers here are on hand to explain the work of the orphanage and to answer any questions.
Lunch time– After the Elephant Orphanage drive to a restaurant for optional lunch menu.
After lunch-Drive to the Giraffe Center Sanctuary. The tour gives a completely up close and personal interaction where you have the opportunity to view giraffes as well as feed them. After Giraffe Centre, drive to the Karen Blixen Museum.
