Our History
In 2008, Judith Sembe started a career in Environment, Education for Sustainability and Ecotourism in Kenya. She realized there was need to promote sustainability in the tourism industry. With this matching her passion for travel consultancy, she formed CAN Tours Limited as her opportunity to show case sustainability and mentorship in Environment Conservation and Tourism. To date we have over 10-year experience in East Africa.
Our tours are designed and facilitated in the principle of responsible travel that fosters a balance between people, nature and economic benefits of the destinations
Booking our services will not only give you a memorable safari but also take home a lot of knowledge about communities, ecosystems and the nature of places you visit. To add on that, your booking will support our sustainability initiative of offering free Environment Education Sessions to Learning institutions and mentorship of young professionals in East Africa.

Our team comprises of like-minded individuals who have accumulated a wealth of knowledge and experience of tourism and conservation in the region. This team is united by the passion for Tourism and Conservation. We are able to curate itineraries that will lead guests to explore Culture, Adventure and Nature in East Africa as per your personal/ group interests, time, budget and expectations.

Judith Sembe
Team leader and Country Rep- Kenya
Judith has a Bachelor degree in Environment Science, a Masters in Environment Planning and Management and over 15 years of experience in Environment, Education for Sustainability and Ecotourism in East Africa. Her passion for travel and sustainability is her driving force to operate CAN (Culture, Adventure, Nature) Tours Ltd since the year 2012. She has travelled extensively in East Africa. As the team leader, she supervises the planning and facilitation of all tours to offer our guests an educative and memorable experience in East Africa. Kelvin Otwori
Country Rep-Tanzania
He is a highly skilled Tour consultant with a background in Wildlife Conservation and Management. With years of experience working in iconic ecosystems like Nairobi, Tsavo and Amboseli National Park; Kelvin blends his expertise in wildlife ecology, conservation, and storytelling to craft unforgettable travel experiences. He employs his experience in Education for Sustainable Development to design and lead bespoke safaris, birding tours, and cultural immersions that highlight East Africa’s rich biodiversity and heritage. His passion for sustainable tourism ensures every safari embraces sustainability.
Francine Umuhoza
Country Rep- Rwanda
After a few years working in the tourism sector in Rwanda, Francine decided to join CAN Tours Ltd as a tour consultant for Rwanda. She organizes Gorilla Trekking safaris, city tours and cultural aspects in Rwanda as her area of operation and country as well. She enjoys being an advocate for her clients, and strives to treat each individual with honesty and integrity. She is very passionate about her job as a tour consultant and well equipped with knowledge of the industry. She offers her time and thoughts to guests from inquiries through bookings, during safaris and after the safaris to offer a remarkable experience.
