Day 1: Kibale Forest
You will be picked from the airport or your hotel and leave for Kibale Forest National Park. In the afternoon we will arrive at Kibale Forest National park, After check in your accommodation of choice, you will have opportunity to visit the Bigodi communities to learn cultural activities like local beer brewing, coffee grinding, traditional healing, local art weaving and others.
Day 2: Chimpanzee Trekking in Kibale Forest National Park.
Arrive the park entrance by 8.00am to start with 4 hours chimpanzee trekking – during which you may also get to see other primates. Kibale forests national park has the highest number of chimpanzees population in East Africa with over 15000 individuals, Kibale park is also known for all the butterflies and birds. In the afternoon we will walk through Bigodi Swamp (home to a community based project).
Day 3: Transfer to Bwindi Gorilla Impenetrable Forest National Park
Early in the morning we will leave for Kisoro. We will cross Kazinga Channel, traveling through Queen Elizabeth Park, and reach Kabale town in time for lunch. From Kabale town we will continue through a beautiful landscape also defined as the {Switzerland of Africa} rolling mountains, lakes, hills with cultivated terraces, tropical rain forest and bamboo forest. On the last hill the landscape unfolds beneath us, taking in the vast planes between Uganda, Rwanda and Congo, with the Virunga volcanoes dominating the view. At the bottom of the valley is Kisoro town
Day 4: Gorilla Trekking in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
On this day, you will leave the hotel early morning to Nkuringo in the southern part of Bwindi. Once there you will first receive a briefing (7.45am) and at 8.30am you will start the tracking. Once you have found the gorillas, you will be able to spend up to one hour with them! You will be expected back to the starting point by 7.00 pm at the latest. The trek involves very intensive physical activity but once you meet the gorillas the moments are rewarding. If you leave the forest early you can visit the Batwa communities the original forest dwellers of Bwindi forests.
Day 5: Transfer to Kampala/Entebbe Airport.
Early in the morning after breakfast you will travel back to Kampala. On the way back to the city you will have lunch in Mbarara town, and after Masaka there will be an opportunity to stop at the Equator for photo shoots and buying souvenirs and have tea or coffee. Once in Kampala you will check in hotel or go to Entebbe airport for outbound flight.
