Itinerary
Day 1: Nairobi
Upon your arrival at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, you will be met and transferred to your hotel. Optional excursion to the Giraffe Centre, the David Sheldrick Elephant Trust and/ or the Karen Blixen museum is available upon request.
Day 2: Nairobi- Amboseli
You will be picked at 8.00 am after breakfast to travel to the famous Amboseli National Park. This is a smaller reserve but with much wildlife. The families of elephants are so populous here. The park has been called, ‘The Land of the Giants’. And another giant dominating the landscape is Africa’s tallest peak, Mt. Kilimanjaro which stands like a giant, iconic monument at the park’s southern boundary. This is a busy wildlife refuge, you may find both big game and small wildlife like hyena, fox, jackal, monkey and all kinds. After lunch you will engage in sunset game drive. There is optional Masai village visit at Amboseli which cost $ 20 per person. Dinner and your overnight stay will be at your accommodation.
Day 3: Amboseli- Tsavo West
You’ll embark on an early morning game drive in Amboseli before making your way to Tsavo West National Park. You’ll check in at your selected accommodation, enjoy a hearty lunch, and unwind. You’ll explore Tsavo West’s remarkable features, including the famous Mzima Springs, Shetani Lava Flow, and scenic landscapes. All the big game is here but you’ll also find baboon, monkey, and the smaller bush baby and dik-dik. You will also do a nature walk round the scenic Mzima springs which is a habitat for crocodile, hippo, exotic fish and migratory birds.
Day 4: Tsavo West- Tsavo East
You will head to Tsavo East National Park. Elephants, lions, rhinos, and vast stretches of land and sky are just waiting to be discovered. Tsavo East National Park is a historic reserve with a storied past of ferocious lions and great natural features. Its distinctive red-dust soil attracts lively herds of elephants who enjoy rolling around in the rosy-colored earth. Here our game drives will unhide lions, herds of dust-red elephant wallowing, rolling or simply foraging cheetah, giraffe, buffalo, antelope, warthog, ostrich, Baboons, bird. We shall also see scenic features like the beautiful man made Aruba dam located on the north bank of the seasonal Voi River. This is visited by thousands of animals and is a great game viewing destination. Mudanda Rock which is a whale-backed rock towers above a natural dam, which acts as a draw to thousands of elephants
Day 5-7: Tsavo East to Mombasa
Not far off we’ll depart Tsavo East and transfer to Mombasa by road or train. Check in at your beach hotel in time for lunch. Spend the next three days at leisure with a lot of optional activities in Mombasa. Mombasa is the central city connecting to North Coast and South Coast. Staying here give you a chance to explore both circuits. Within Mombasa you could explore Swahili museums and wildlife sanctuary. The north coast and south coast offer pristine beaches and marine parks. In summary, attractions include museums, marine parks, national parks like Shimba hills and wildlife sanctuaries like Haller Park, cultural sites and Watamu, Malindi or Diani beaches.
Day 8: Mombasa to Nairobi
You will travel back to Nairobi by flight Wilson airport where you will be received and transfer to Jomo Kenyatta International Airport to catch up with your international departure schedule.
